Questions we hear a lot.
How long does a home renovation take in Sacramento?
Construction runs from a few weeks for a single bathroom to several months for a whole-home remodel. Add roughly three weeks of design and anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months of permitting before that. For a whole-home project, plan on six to nine months from first call to moving back in.
Do I have to move out during a remodel?
For whole-home work, usually yes, typically by week three or four. For a single kitchen or bathroom you can normally stay, though you'll be without that room during demo and rough-in.
What is a fixed-price contract?
It means the number you approve is the number you pay, unless you ask for a change in scope. It is different from an estimate, which can move. Ask any contractor which one you are signing.
What happens if something unexpected is found behind the walls?
It gets priced and approved by you before any work proceeds. Water damage and outdated plumbing or wiring are the most common surprises in older Sacramento housing stock.
